Turn an entry into art, film or music

Write about a day and see it: a painting of the rain you watched, a short film of the walk, a track that sounds the way the evening felt. Each creation opens a dialog where you review the prompt, choose a model, and see the exact credit cost before anything is generated, and what you make stays on the entry.

Some models apply strict content rules, for example about alcohol or children. If one declines a prompt, the app says so plainly, charges nothing, and offers to switch you to a more permissive model.

Reflect with a companion that has read your journal

The Reflect tab is a conversation with a companion that draws on your recent entries, not just today's. Ask what themes keep coming back, how your mood has shifted, or what is giving you energy and what is draining it. Any reply can become the start of a new entry with one tap.

Private Vault entries are never included in any of this.

Share to the Mosaic

The Mosaic is a community feed of the days people choose to share, with the artwork and films they made from them. Nothing appears there unless you send it, under a display name or anonymously, and anyone can browse it without an account.

• Share the writing without the pictures: one checkbox keeps your photos, video, and recordings off the shared entry, and they stay visible only to you
• Emoji reactions as a gentle way to show support
• Share anonymously and the post is published separately from your account, so no one can trace it to you, your other posts, or your comments
• Comments on shared entries, plain text with links blocked
• Report any post or comment, with a reason, and block anyone you would rather not see: their posts and comments disappear for you, and they can no longer comment on or react to yours. Blocked people are listed under Privacy and data sharing, where you can unblock them
• Shared entries, their photos, video and audio included, are checked automatically before they appear and whenever they change, and reports are reviewed
• Browse while logged out; sign in to react or comment

Write the way you like

A clean editor, prompts for the days when the first line is hard, and dictation when you would rather talk. You can start writing before you have an account.

Make it a habit

• A daily reminder at a time you choose, delivered as a notification on your phone, with a different prompt each day of the week
• A streak and a seven-day strip at the top of your journal, so you can see at a glance whether today is written
• A short onboarding after sign-up asks why you journal and puts the most relevant prompts first
• On This Day resurfaces entries from the same date in earlier years

Find and keep your entries

• Search by text, and filter by tag, mood, or a date range
• Attach your own photos, videos, and recordings to any entry
• An analytics card shows your entry count, longest streak, and mood breakdown
• Export all your entries, or just the ones matching your current filters, as a file you keep
• Download any image, video, or track from an entry
• Light and dark mode, following your device or your choice

Private Vault

For your most sensitive writing, mark an entry as private. Its text, photos, video and audio are encrypted on your device, with a password only you know, before anything is stored. The service holds only the scrambled form and cannot read it. Unlock the vault with your password to read those entries again, on any of your devices.

• Attach photos, video and recordings as usual: they are encrypted as they upload, and media already on an entry is encrypted when you make it private
• Videos in the vault can be up to 50 MB, because they are decrypted on your device to play; voice memos are kept, encrypted, without transcription
• Your vault password never leaves your device and is checked before it is used, so a typo can't lock you out of an entry
• Private entries are never analysed, never used by the companion, never generate media, and are never saved as drafts on your device
• They can never be shared to the community
• Exports contain only the encrypted form. If you forget your vault password, nobody, including us, can recover those entries

Your name and avatar

Add a first name or pen name for anything you share, and, if you like, an avatar generated from a photo you upload or take with your camera. You can switch between the photo and the generated avatar, and the avatar can be used as a reference for artwork and video.

Free and Pro

The journal is free. Mosaic Pro adds the parts that go deeper, for $5.99 a month or $49.99 a year.

Creative credits pay for artwork, video, and music only; writing and reflection never cost credits. An image starts at one credit, a video at one credit and up to ten for the highest-quality model, and a track at one credit. Credit packs of 50, 100, or 200 are available for $5, $10, or $20 if you want more than your monthly allowance.
